Occupational therapy assessment

The evaluation typically takes
1 hour - 3 hours to complete

Pinnacle Blooms Network specializes in the diagnostic process of Occupational, language, social and other communication disorders. Typically, to start therapy, the child will require an official evaluation, which usually entails a completion of a standardized assessment.

Pinnacle Blooms Network's Occupational Therapist completes a comprehensive assessment for Occupational, language, cognition, swallowing and feeding disorders. Therapy is offered for Occupational issues, oral motor skills, language, communication, social interaction, cognitive communication (memory, organizational skills, problem solving) and dysphagia (feeding and swallowing disorders).

The evaluation takes typically takes 1 hour to complete depending on the child's individualized needs. The therapist will conduct an interview and review documentation provided. During the session, you can expect formal and informal assessment tasks to be completed. Following the evaluation, you should expect to receive your report within couple of days following your evaluation.

If your child is evaluated to have a need for Occupational therapy services, our administration staff will work with you in scheduling exclusive 1:1 therapeutic session for your kid. We do our best to accommodate scheduling needs but please note after school appointment time slots are the most requested. Our goal is to meet your scheduling needs to make it convenient for your family.

Because each child is different and our care plans are individualized to each child, we cannot estimate "how long" Occupational therapy will take in months or years. Our therapists will provide as much education as possible to meet all of your needs and answer all your questions. We offer consultation with other professionals working with your child in order to provide the most effective course of treatment and generalization of skills.

Discharge: Once the child is approaching mastery of their Occupational therapy goals, the clinician will discuss with you weeks prior to the anticipated end date. All recommendations will be shared at the time of discharge and you will have ample time to discuss with the therapist. It is never a closed door. You are welcome to email or call your therapist if you have any concerns following discharge. We also offer "refresher" courses throughout breaks and summer time for those that may require "boosters" every so often.

Kid would attend the 45 minutes daily therapy sessions for 5 days a week (excluding public holidays) within the facility. First 10 therapy sessions are utilized to build emotional connectivity with your kid/children, Based upon current age of your kid/children our therapists will work with you setting up Monthly/ Quarterly/ Half-Yearly/ Yearly Occupational therapy goals based upon the program you are enrolling. By-Nature longterm courses yields the best outcomes and most improvement. Consider monthly goal as visiting a RMP doctor for first-aid Vs Year Long Term Therapy Course as having your family physician... One does temporary cure - Other looks after your family needs.

Experience has shown that children make the most progress in developing skills when caregivers are able to watch the clinician use strategies and carry-out activities.
